Meet The Horses
At Rusty Halo, our horses are extraordinary teachers and healers, each bringing their unique personality and gentle wisdom to our therapeutic programs. Through equine-assisted therapy, these remarkable animals help foster youth, veterans with PTSD, children with autism, and unhoused youth discover their inner strength and resilience in ways that traditional therapy alone often cannot achieve. Meet these extraordinary animals that help provide so much change, and learn how you can support our efforts through our “Adopt A Horse” program below.
Adopt A Horse Program
We are not an animal rescue, even though our horse partners have been through some type of challenging situations. This parallels our work with our clients as we do not rescue them or fix them either. Instead, for both our horses and clients, we provide a safe space for them to find their voice and heal from the inside out. This allows for a deeper connection to be built between our clients and the horses as there are often similarities or familiar feelings that arise when stories align. This also means we encounter higher costs to rehab and maintain these amazing horses so they can be at their best for the clients. Get to know our horse team members, their stories, how they connect with different clients, and what their needs are to stay healthy.
If you feel particularly drawn to one of the horse team members and want to be a part of their story, you can subscribe to our Halo Heard adoption program for that horse. We will send videos, pictures, and updates so you know what your adoptions funds are contributing to and how they are in turn providing healing opportunities for our clients. If you happen to be within driving distance, we will send out invites for special events for our Halo Herd adoptees to come out and be with the horses. If you are not able to drive to the barn, we will still be sure you feel connected to the horse you are supporting!
