Jefferson Awards

We are excited to share that Rusty Halo's Executive Director, Steph Peek, was honored with KPIX's Jefferson Award for her work with special needs and foster teens at a therapeutic horse ranch, Spirit House.

The award ceremony was held on January 16th, 2019 at the Herbst Theater in San Francisco. The night of the awards was super rainy and storming, but everyone came out to celebrate the good people do in our society.

Steph was awarded a bronze medal, and was one of 51 people to receive the Bay Area Award in 2018. She received her medal for the work she does at Spirit Horse, as well as the efforts with Rusty Halo working with foster teen girls. Charlotte, Steph's trainer at Spirit Horse, also received a bronze medal at the awards ceremony.

Friends and family watched as Steph received her medal, including her father, who is her inspiration to live a life of service.

Last fall Steph was featured on a KPIX CBS news segment honoring her as a Jefferson Award winner, which you can watch below.
