Welcome to Rusty Halo

Hello and thank you for checking out our site!  There have been so many people involved in setting up this site and I am especially grateful for all talent of Lauren, Emily, and Erin.  Without these amazing ladies this site would never have made a public appearance.

My name is Steph Peek and I am the executive director of Rusty Halo Foundation.  In these blog posts I will share from my heart and provide some personal insight into the foundation.  No one is editing my writings (so pardon the misspellings!!) in these posts.  Please feel free to follow along through my journey as well as those who are participants in the foundation.  It is my hope you will find joy in the process and hope for the future of all the teens we can reach out to.

First Post!!  May 31, 2016

Wow, I can't believe I have actually made it to posting for the first time on the web page.  It has been a dream of mine to find a way to help and support at risk teens for quite a long time.  Yes, some may think it is a crazy undertaking, but it needs to be done.  There needs to be a place foster or at risk youth can come to for a safe and secure living base.  When teens have been shuffled around or pulled from their homes, they do not form healthy attachments.  They do not have stability.   They miss out on so many simple opportunities in life that the rest of us take for granted.  Playing sports, learning an instrument, sharing family dinner around the table, or even getting to do chores!!  Structure and stability are crucial for any teen.

Many people ask me why it is called Rusty Halo.  The simple answer is...no one is perfect.  We all might try to be angles, but there will always be a little rust on that halo.  It reminds me that every person you meet has some rust they are dealing with.  Every person deserves a chance to shine up that rust, especially teenagers who have been dealt a real tough hand.

So, to all my halo helpers and everyone who is supporting me, I thank you.  From the very bottom of my heart, thank you.  Stay tuned for more adventures in Rusty Halo!
